How to find out what Update Version

How can I know what Redhat Update I have.
I have 3 Redhat AS3 and I would like to know what Update version they have
I thought uname -a should give me the information but I don't know how to translate it

Box1: 2.4.21-40.ELsmp
Box2: 2.4.21-47.ELsmp
Box3: 2.4.21-4.ELsmp (yes that's -4. not a typo)

or is there any other command which will give me the update version ?

Thanks

cat /etc/redhat-release will give you the Red Hat version.

Thanks.

I have been using uname -a but that is really not what I wanted. I wanted the command cat /etc/redhat-release to actually give the popular/main name of the OS.

A ton of thanks,
Beth
