How to config ide-scsi on hard drive

I am having problem to config ide-scsi for my (second) hard drive.
Folowing are the messages from dmesg:

hdb:end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 2
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 4
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 6
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 0
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 2
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 4
end_request: I/O error, dev 03:40 (hdb), sector 6
unable to read partition table

My /etc/grub.conf is:

default=0
timeout=30
splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title White Box Enterprise Linux (2.4.21-15.EL)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.21-15.EL ro root=/dev/hda2 hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi initrd /initrd-2.4.21-15.EL.img

When I do "cdrecord -scanbus", I see my CD/DVD writers:
scsibus0:
0,0,0 0) 'LITE-ON ' 'DVD+RW SOHW-802S' 'UPP6' Removable CD-ROM
0,1,0 1) 'ASUS ' 'CD-S480/AH ' '0.89' Removable CD-ROM

My linux is WhiteBox 3.

Please help! If you know how to config ide-scsi on boot drive, it would help too!

Thanks in advance!

Kerzi in following article said he did it couple of years ago. I could not find any details on it.
