how to compile x for use on another pc???

Hello,

im using RH9, im having problems compiling X from source on my
PC (it is a P-233, sis530). and it takes about more than ++7hrs. to complete the build, only to find out it isn't (complete) after running $make install.
so im asking if anyone can please help me and give me a guide to compile it from another PC (cel-900, sis630) so that i can install binaries to my
other pc (P-233, sis530)...??????
BTW,
i just typed it like so.
and happened liked this..."

prompt$make World
.................................................................................................... ...............................(after long time it finally says like: Build xfree86 4.3xx complete)

prompt$make install ......................................................................................
............(error: "/.../..../.../ libmesa.a :file or dir not found)
make [5] leaving directory /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/xc
make [4] leaving directory /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/
make [3] ...so on.. so.. on..
"
and now im stuck with runlevel 3.

i do not wish to do that long wait again please... can anyone please help me..??

--regards--

hello,

i have just finished installing my xfree86, just by doing a
$make World
and copying the xc directory to my other PC (P-233) and then i run
$make install
and then an error massage that says
err::: cannot find libexpat.so.1 :: file or directory not found... (something like that)
so i go back to my other pc (celeron) and run a search libexpat.so.1 and found it in the /xc/lib/expat directory and copied it to my other PC's (P-233)
/usr/lib and run the
$make install, and voila!!!! a miracle!!! it's alive again!!! back in full color!!!
though i cannot find the log file for the errors,(or i just didn't specified to make one)
but anyway it's find now, although it's very slow at first but after a few successive boots, it's kind of back to normal... well i hope in the future i don't run into any more bug's due to the way i did it improperly...

i hope anyone could suggest me, or could tell me how to configure XFree86
properly from source, or have any corrections in the way i did it, or some extra commands for the X.

and i also hope that people having the same problems find my post useful...
