Help with startx in redhat 7.2 with radeon 8500 128 meg
i can get startx to run at all ...the only thing it does is flash black then back to the command line interface anyone have an idea how to fix it ive reinstalled it 10 times and nothing works please please help

drivers
it seems like its not in the list lol its a radeon 8500 i need to download them from ati and install them would you happen to know how to install them from cd with only using cli in linux

Open the second link above.
As it says in the instructions on the page
'If you are not sure which version of XFree86 you have installed, please download and run Check.sh from a command line to find out."
Save Check.sh to your home directory and run it by
./Check.sh
or a simplar way is at the command line type
XFree86 -version
