GNOME Settings Daemon Error (Popular)

Hello,

I installed a custom version of Red Hat, and several other versions of Red Hat on various personal computers. Once installion is complete and set up properly, I got the following error message: I know this is a popular error, but what is the fix for it?

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon.

Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly.

The Settings Daemon restarted too many times.

The last error message was:

Failed to activate 'OAFIID:GNOME_SettingsDaemon'

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.

Does anyone know why this occurs and how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance,
Mistro116

if i was that concerned/interested, i'd contact the developers.

does this problem 'go away' after one time, or...

i suspect a 'permissions' problem, or maybe during install you are not listing any 'regular' users..

i'v seen it too, but i can't remember if it was a 'critical' error, or what.

good luck, let us know.

Its an error with the gstreamer

Its an error with the gstreamer. just get the latest version, quick google will find it, remove the faulty one, and install the new one, and your good to go. I had this error in Slackware 10.0 and that fixed it right up.
