best offline backup
For really good backups or machine copies,
i shut the machine down, boot it from CD (knoppix or "rescue system"). Then, I mount the HD to /mnt or whatever and perform the backup. NFS squashes root privileges. Whether your FTP server does too, I dont know. Maybe you are victim of iptables (the firewall). Please give more hints like the commands you try and the errors/problems you get. |
i dont realy want to go through all that. im Not using nfs...
im simply bringup wsftp, from a winders box when i ftp in, from a client, as root, i get a 530 error: Login incorrect !Login afilure , so quiting i can log ftp as me....... there is a way that redhat is able to block root, both as telnet, and ftp what i need to know, is how i can disable this ???? |
