Exclamation Download RPM for PHP4.3?

Does anybody know where I can download the rpm for php4.3? Also, is this the best method for updating php? My web server is on a company intranet and can not access the web, so I can't use up2date (this sucks.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hello

this is the first one i found, but you can find others with "google.com/linux"

download php

i would download the tar arhive and compile php by myself, but if you want it only as rpm...
you can upgrade it with this, i think rpm -Uhv php-4.3.6-1.3.i386.rpm

hope this helped!

Hello,

I downloaded that RPM and ran the rpm -Uvh command and recieved the following errors:

error: Failed dependencies:
httpd-mmn = 20020903 is needed by php-4.3.6-1.3
libaspell.so.15 is needed by php-4.3.6-1.3
libdb-4.1.so is needed by php-4.3.6-1.3
libpspell.so.15 is needed by php-4.3.6-1.3
php = 4.2.2-17 is needed by (installed) php-imap-4.2.2-17
php = 4.2.2-17 is needed by (installed) php-ldap-4.2.2-17
php = 4.2.2-17 is needed by (installed) php-mysql-4.2.2-17

How do I fix that?

Thanks,
Jose

Hi!

You have to download and install the libs that came in your error:
httpd-mmn
libaspell.so.15
libdb-4.1.so
......

Search for rpm's. After you installed them, try to php upgrade again.

Good luck!

thanks all

Thanks everybody for your help. I decided to just wipe out the whole thing and installed Suse Linux 9.1 pro since red hat no longer supports the linux series. (They want to be like Mic..oft) No slander here Mr. Gates. Anyway, Suse really rocks.

Hello,

Yeah, I started downloading RPMs that came up in the dependancy list. However, with each new install of an RPM a new list of dependancies would come up. It was never ending. Eventually Apache was totally hosed, and so was php. I now understand the phrase dependancy hell.

What I did in the end to fix things up was uinstall the Apache and PHP RPMs and install them both from source.

That was a great learning experience. And it all works
