doom3 on fedora?

Anyone played doom3 on fedora here?

Can anyone tell me why I get double the framerate with slackware on
kernel 2.4 than I do with fedora on it's standard kernel?

agpgart can not determine my agp arpeture in slack 2.4 [8x agp] however kernel 2.6 and above should be able to and I do not recieve error messages stating otherwise. However, slack on 2.4 outdoes fedora and mandrake as far as doom3 goes.

If your a linux gamer I need your ideas because I like fedora core 3 and I would like to use it more.

Thx in advance.

oops.....wrong forum
