DNS with redhat enterprise linux 5

Hello,

I have a problem. Let me explain. I use 2 dns. The problem is when the first one is down, my network is really slower. Is there a way to change that?

Thanks for your answer.

PS : the file resolv.conf on my proxy, for exemple, looks like that:

Code:
domain xxxx
nameserner 127.0.0.1
nameserver 10.x.x.20
nameserver 10.x.x.21

You can add a line:
options timeout:n

Replacing "n" with a number of seconds. That tells it how quickly to give up on one name server and try the next.
