digital camera / USB /RH 9.0

Dear all,

I would like to be able to connect my digital camera on my Linux PC, in order to download pictures from the devices to my hard disk. I use RH 9.0. How do I have to mount this new device connected via USB2.0 port? Is there a way to automatically detect the device and trgger the mount?
Thanks in advance for your help,

Regards,

Vincent

I don't know if your particular device is supported or not, but if it is you should only have to plug it in and let the hotplug tool do the rest.

Try plugging the device in and then tail /var/log/messages and run lsusb to see if it has been detected properly. I don't do much with digital cameras, so I'm not sure what to do once it's detected, though I did notice a number of digital camera tools like gtkam, which seems to have built-in support for a whole lot of cameras (run it and take a look at the "camera->add camera" dialog).

Good luck!
