different up2date problem

Hopefully someone else saw this problem. I am trying to get better at managing Linux, so please do not laugh at my question. I am running Fedora 3 and I have kept it up2date, blindly. Well, ok I know, I should know EVERYTHING that goes into the system. Now here I am with a system that after a reboot does everything but get and IP address. No, there is no hardware problem, the XP on the system works fine.

Problem
===============================
Network stopped working after up2date

Questions
===============================
How can I see the patches that I just let up2date put in place?

Can I search by date?

What would be the command to back them out ?

Is there a better approach that I should take?

Thanks in Advance, I know this sound like a tall order and I feel pretty silly.

Run rpm --query --all --last | less in your favourite terminal.

Thanks for getting back to me - to answer

Yes, eth0 is there and all looks well, as I would expect. The Windows install works great, so that eliminates the hardware and cabling, etc.

As for the last RPMs the only one I see that is not a recognized application is bind-libs-9.2.

What was done to resolve it was to run "System Settings" and "Network", delete the entry for the 'eth0' and create a new DHCP, and then BINGO, it worked.

Thanks for the support.
