dialup and ftp from win2k

I have a win2000( prof)from where i dial into a RH8 server.while doing FTP from win2K to Linux over dialup, the connection gets closed by the linux m/c whenever filesize becomes greater than 4MB.
Is there a workaround to this problem?
Is there a parameter where this filesize is set?

"the connection gets closed by the linux m/c whenever filesize becomes greater than 4MB."

This is probably a parameter in the Linux software that you are using to do the download. If you cannot find it then switch to another download manager.

What does "m/c" stand for?

Sorry, I stated things backwards. This problem is probably a parameter in the Linux machine where it will only accept up to 4MB upload. I suggest that you email the person responsible for the Linux server and ask to have your upload limit raised.
