Dell Latitude RH 9.0 No CDROM After Install

I installed RedHat 9.0 on my Dell Latitude CPx Laptop. I have installed twice (from CDs). After install, I cannot mount a cdrom. There is no entry in /etc/fstab. There is no device "cdrom" in /dev. The /mnt directory is entry. There is no CDROM or FLOPPY directory as would be expected.

How do I get my cdrom mounted?

This may sound like a strange question, but are the floppy and cdrom on your laptop actually USB devices? If so, then they may not be automatically recognized by RedHat.
