Creating Shortcuts for Applications

Thanks to those who gave me clues to installing RPMs.

Thus far I've successfuly installed the latest version of Gaim and I'm trying to create a new Launcher for it in my Red Hat menu (using Gnome).

When I try to create a new Launcher, Red Hat tells me that it is an "Unsupported operation."

Any clues as to get around this? I've tried right-clicking in the Red Hat menu and gone to "Add new item to this menu" but still the same message appears.

I'm able to create a new Launcher on the desktop, but even copying/moving that Launcher to the applications:///Internet folder in the 'Start Here' folder on my desktop and still get the same "Unsupported operation" message.

Any clues?
