Creating custom distro from RH9 ?

OK - this is what I want to do :

I want to create a custom distro from red hat 9. I've already downloaded the sources for anaconda, but since it's written in python I don't have a clue how to build it. The makefile gives me an "error 1" when I try make. Any ideas? The aim is to create an installation disc which will have some "chosen" rpms which will be installed after the user chooses a partition to install it on.

Any help will be appreciated.

I have never tried to "build" anaconda, but python is an intrepter, not a compiler, so if the"make" of anaconda fails, it may be simply because there is nothing to compile. Perhaps you go directly to "make install"?

Why Redhat 9 when its a virtually obsolete distro? Try creating something based on Fedora Core and there are many examples on the web of how to do this.
