Create RAID 5 software array
Hi, i have a question about raid.

I have to setup a server at my school with redhat enterprise 3.0.
The server that we are useing has 5x scsi 36 gig and 1 scsi 9 gig.
Redhat is installed on the 9gig disk and now i want to use the other 5 to create a raid 5 software array.

My quesiton is:
can i create this array while i'm in redhat GUI or Console ?
or do i have to boot from cd to create a raid 5 software array ?

thnx in advance

Well, I believe Disk Druid is capable of handling it all for you. Alternatively, you can use raidtools or mdadm from the console.

is it possbile to start diskdruid in REDHAT while it's started or do i have to boot the cd ?

so i have found a clear guide about the raidtools aka mdadm. but before using it i have one question left that wasn't handled!

do i have to format and or partition my harddisks first or what steps doe i have to take
