Are you sure the required services are running on both machines?
- portmap
- NFSd

Try requesting a list of available NFS exports with:
'showmount -e <remote-ip>'

Does anything show up in /var/log/messages on any of the machines?

Hi,

Make sure the NFS service is running on both machines.

1. To enable NFS on your RHEL6, you need rpcbind, nfslock and nfs services to be running.
2. Like kitgerrits said;
