compare RHEL 4.1 and RHEL 4.3
Hi everybody,
I want to what is different between RHEL 4.1 and RHEL 4.3 (something like do they differ in the kernel or what? Are there any new features added?). I have surfed the web and i dont seem to find anything. Can anyone help me? - Deepakala Ganesan |
hi,
Ofcourse RHEL 4.1 and 4.3 differ in kernel. RHEL 4.1 uses kernel-2.6.9-11.EL.i686.rpm whereas RHEL4.3 uses kernel-2.6.9-34.EL.i686.rpm and then you can find some RPM's updated from 4.1 to 4.3 |
hi pargan,
Can you also tell me where I can find these information?? |
hi,
you better check all 3 Release notes http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/e...U1-x86-en.html http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/e...U2-x86-en.html http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/e...U3-x86-en.html there u find changes |
thanks a lot paragn.

The major difference between RHEL 3 and RHEL 4 is journaling. A journaling (or journalling) file system is a file system that logs changes to a journal (usually a circular log in a specially-allocated area) before actually writing them to the main file system. |
