changing default from gnome to kde
 
How do I change default session from gnome to kde? Or maybe remove gnome?
I am using fc2.

hi there

first of all u should out this query in the fedora forum..

regarding ur question,if u have installed KDE then during login time,choose kde from the sessions tab(which is in the screen at the botom)

edit the following
/etc/sysconfig/desktop
and change it to "KDE"

You have to find the "desktop swithing utility" utility somewhere in the main menu, and select kde.

i do not find this utility now in FC2

it was there in redhat 9.0

run command:
switchdesk kde
then the default x will change from gnome to kde

I was able to find my answer in some of my linux books. From shell I typed "switchdesk kde".

The best is to change the following in /etc/sysconfig/desktop

Desktop=KDE
