Centos 5.2 on Dual Quad Core Dell 2950

I need to upgrade my server and am looking into future proofing myself a bit.

Would a dual quad core be supported in Centos 5.2?

It runs pretty much one very busy php/mysql site.

The box I'm looking at is a Dell 2950 with a Dell Perc Raid controller running SAS.
Anyone having any experience with that controller card?

Yes. Use the x84_64 version if you want to take advantage of the 64bit processors. The PERC 6i is also supported.
