Can't find applications:///Internet
RHEL 3.0 update 5, I have eight systems with identical hardware and software using the Gnome Desktop Environment, logging in on the same account and I started getting the error: "Can't Display Location: Couldn't find "applications:///Internet". Please check the spelling and try again." I suspect something got deleted, or permissions were changed. I need to be able to use both Gnome and KDE on these systems. Logging in using KDE I do not encounter any errors.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance. Harold |
Hey there,
Can you tell me what version on Gnome you are using. If it is Gnome 2.10, then this functionality was removed so that they could comply with the freedesktop.org guidelines. I do not think there is a replacement, but all files that used to be in internet are also in the gnome menu/network. Hope that helped, Rhys |
Rhys:
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have been busy at work with other things. The Gnome version is 2.2.2. Do you have any idea as to which file may contain this reference, so I may remove it? Thanks again. Harold |
In that case, I am afraid I cannot help you. I have only been familiar since 2.8, and I know 2.10 better!
Hope you can find out soon, Rhys |
