Can't access KDE GUI

I am brand new to Linux and have REd Hat 9 installed on a dual boot system with W2K Adv Server. I installed KDE and all the dependencies but I cannot access it. I log on as Root and the type startkde and I receive the error unable to open display. I have an AGP Radeon 9800 Pro with 128 MB RAM and I am thinking that this is the problem. Can anyone give me some direction on how to install the drivers for this card? Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeppolit,

Try http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html , follow the instructions. (Assuming you do have a drivers' problem).

Can't access KDE GUI

I tried "startx" and got a bash
I had already tried to "cd" to cd-rom and got an "invalid drive" error This prompts another question; how are drives allotted in the linux file system? Currently my CDRW os drive "R" and my DVD burner is "S"
