ASUS installation problem

I am having difficulty installing Fedora Core 4 on an ASUS P4P800-VM, during which the installation never gets past trying to disable IRQ11. I have tried disabling the USB ports and adding various options to the linux installation command(i.e. acpi=off, noprobe and noirqdebug=1) but without any success.

Is there a resolution to this difficulty or should I change to a different version of linux?

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Best Regards,
cpgos
