Arrow adding module

I just want to add i2c support to kernel.
Is there a simple way of using oldconfig, and just
adding the support? ( or is there another way?)

I 'd hate to add extra crap that I don't need when using the GUI.
more then 1/2 of the inputs I don't know, but then down
the road I could dump, and have a lean kernel.

Thanks

As long as you run "make menuconfig" with your old
.config present in /usr/src/linux, you will only be adding
changes to your previous configuration, rather than starting
over.
