Adding an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card to CentOS

Greetings. I have a basic and probably easy question. I have been tasked with adding an Adaptec 29160 SCSI card to a server running CentOS 4.4 (RHEL 4). Eventually this will be connected to an Overlund Tape Library.

Once the card is installed and we reboot the machine will the OS auto detect it and install the right driver for it to do I have to do something special?

Should not be a problem, just to be sure check that you have the aic79xxx.ko kernel module;

Example: /lib/modules/2.6.18-8.1.8.el5/kernel/drivers/scsi/aic7xxx/aic79xx.ko

Thanks! Once I discovered the module name I found it using locate. Only problem we had was that it was going in a 2u machine with an extension board. On the extension were 2 slots but only one of those slots allow bus control.

CentOS came up without a hitch and saw it.

Sorry for double posting but I could not determine which forum to put it in.
