xorg driver for mouse

Have installed Simplicity Linux to the hardrive of a little netbook. Only one thing - Have to change the mouse to left hand every time I boot up. Beside the checkbox is a reference to an xorg driver being needed. I don't have a clue. Are there any tricks to store the setting? I have used the search and tried what I found but no cigar

Simplicity - Desktop1601Final full install. No cloud for me.

Mouse - Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 3500

Computer - HP Mini netbook

I have Parkinson's and my right hand is next to useless for the mouse (and many other tasks).
There is no response because it is a right handed world so MODERATOR please delete my thread as it appears I cannot

There are several ways to skin this cat.

Traditionally started X server sources ~/.Xmodmap, so you can put "pointer = 3 2 1" in it. If your X does not source it you can run xmodmap from your X startup script. Or you can configure it in xorg.conf. Google will tell how.

OK. Thanks for the try.

Over the past month I have opened and closed, changed and saved. messed up and had to use vi from the command line to recover.

FOUND IT :) (I hope)

/root/.config.lxsession/LXDE/desktop.conf

Change LeftHanded=0
To LeftHanded=1

Well, it lasted 4 reboots so I guess that has to be it. Put a shortcut to it on my desktop just in case

you do not need to reboot, probably a:
service lightdm restart
or similar would be sufficient, it depends on your os and display manager

Do not run X as root!

You don't use Puppy so you will have to read up on it before you make such a comment.

It runs as root. This ain't Slackware or Arch

It is a netbook. It gets rebooted every time I take it out of the bag. No biggie. Tried forced powerdown, powerdown, reboot and halt from the command line to be absolutely sure
