Will puppy work on my computer?

Hi,

I got 486/DX4 75 MHZ, 16MB Ram. My hard drive is 1 GB.

I am thinking of installing Puppy or DSL. What do you think, which one is better for my hardware?

Another thing, the laptop doesn't have Network or CDRom, only floppy. But I don't have floppy disks. The only arrangement that I can think about is plug out the hard disk and connect it to my computer using IDE 2 USB cable.
I have WinXP installed on it.

I want to install full installation and not frugal.

How can I do it? Thanks.

Frugal installation is a DSL feature - and honestly, for your hardware, frugal will probably run better than full installation (the difference in performance is pratically zero, whereas a frugal installation takes a lot less space on the harddrive) - but frankly, for those specs, I'd recommend DeLi Linux instead of Puppy or DSL - and I'm not sure if this'll work, really.

The proposed installation method should work for both DSL (frugal!) and Puppy - but again, 16MB RAM is too little (IMHO) to run X with those two. I've managed to install Puppy on a P233MMX with 64MB RAM, and it runs really well there, but 16MB - that's a completely different game...

M.
