what are your views and experiences with pup and how could it be improved?

ended up reading this review and sorta sums it up for me, though i haven't really been following pup after 3x variants and just recently having another look

i certainly found that it was quite unbelievable what linux was capable of offering with the fewest megs

certainly 'bang for the buck' is important to me and having read the below, will be having look at the 2 other distros mentioned

When Puppy was first released, it fulfilled a need. Now, if you have a small computer, AntiX and Vector Light are both smaller and more reliable. If you want the Slackware repository, Slackware is probably less trouble to set up. The various versions of Puppy seem to be turning into hobby projects for their developers, rather than usable distros.

Less variety and more consistency.

Devs should listen more, fix more bugs and stop trying to reinvent the wheel every 15 minutes.

a supporting forum makes or breaks any distro, i can hardly even read one of the new ones and comes across like a continuing mess from the get go,

not to mention cheesy, and chintzy with plenty of babble,

including of course the preocupation and slandering of others

Careful, Jeremy just nixed that kind of talk, or didn't you see those locked threads?

jonyo 11-27-2011 08:22 PM

actually i have not read them yet, although i did get a glance at one,

hard to tell what's ok just by what other folks are doing,

i saw one addressed to you regarding leaving links to 'other babble' elsewhere out,

not sure if that includes my sig, which i haven't heard about,

i certainly have no desire to break rules here,

i would have noticed a pm or email for sure,

personally, nothing that is going on is upsetting to me, or my concern

there are many new forums out there and i didn't name one in the post

i'll have a look and try to sort it out, and meanwhile zippa da lippa, stick to biz and pup OS talk

Recommend you look right now.

Whatever floats your boat though.

What Puppy needs is more focus rather than the current top down every man for himself type leaderless fiasco currently in vogue by devs.
