Unable to install Puppy on HD (Puppy universal installer)
Hi folks: I just downloaded the version 2.16 but and ran the “Puppy universal installer” in order to install Puppy in the HD. It copied several files and folder (I can see it using the file manager) but the system don’t boot from the hard drive. What may I check?

A detailed explanation you can find in the wiki of Puppy.
Puppy is a very loved Operating System that is good supported with manuals, wiki and forums. Therefore your choice for beginning with Linux choosing Puppy was excellent. What you try to find you will find here: http://www.puppylinux.org/wiki/insta...l-installation Good success PS: if you have multiple-boot (various OS) you might need an other hint for the grub install Grubinstaller > to Root of Linuxpartition Console: dd if=/dev/hdaX of=/tmp/bootsec.lin bs=512 count=1 copy: bootsec.lin from /temp/ to C:/ change C:/boot.ini => : c:\bootsec.lin="Grub > Puppy" adapt Menue.lst on Linuxpartition at boot/grub/ |
