Puppy on USB - boot says "missing operating system"
I have done no mistakes.
My BIOS boots from the USB. I downloaded puppy 5.0.1 iso and burned it to a cd. Then booted from the cd and used install to set it up on a usb. It didn't work ... I am a complete newbie ..... please Help me Also please suggest some other distro for a usb |
What do you mean when you say "it didn't work"? Are you able to boot to other USB devices?
|
Yes i can
my bios supports usb boot
dont know why puppy linux didn't boot |
It definitely recognizes the device as bootable ..... but shows the message " Missing Operating System"
|
when you put puppy on the stick did you give it the flag that names it as a bootable device?
i dont know if this helps but on my box every time i want to boot from usb i must choose that option in boot set-up. it sounds more like you didn't make it bootable |
