No floppy drive


This is in my fstab file.

I have no floppy drive.

Can I remove the statement ?

Yes you can. That will not cause any problems. As always, make a backup of fstab before you make changes, so you have an easy way to restore it, just in case something goes wrong.

I have a backup script that backups fstab along with other important files. :-)

if there is no "#" in front of that line and you DO NOT have a ide floppy drive

you SHOULD !!!!! be getting a boot error and the system not finishing booting
or at least a LOT of warnings in the system logs

No, he shouldn't, because the "noauto" option is there.
