LinuxQuestions.org - Network Printing using CUPS 1.1.23 Puppy to WinXP

Hello all,

I've installed CUPS 1.1.23 using a thread available in this forum and set up my local printer (Panasonic Kx-p2130) sucessfully. Now I'm trying to set my other printer up. It is connected to a WinXP box, and I have Samba set up to where I can see the printer in LinNeighborhood and access shared files on the system. The printer is also shared and has been used via network in the past but not with Puppy.

The info I've got on CUPS says to set it up as a parallel printer but I've had no success with that setup. I have tried to set it up as a samba printer and an internet printer but I am not skilled in the settings and have been guessing at the correct address to put in so that CUPS can locate it.

The network is DCHP, with a linksys router as the DCHP server. Does anyone know what address I should use to set this printer up, or what I could be doing wrong in using the parallel setting?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
