Need help installing Puppy on an IBM thinkpad T23

I have a very old IBM thinkpad T23 as my only computer at the moment. My main desktop PC with its super fast quad core processor and 16gb of RAM is currently broken, so im stuck with this old piece of junk. It says its built for Windows Xp, but its so slow its unreal. I'm thinking Puppy would run a lot faster, but i'm having trouble installing it.

This thinkpad doesn't recognize any Live Cd I try to boot. Boot from CD is definitely first boot option, but it still wont. Worse still, it has no floppy drive. Is there any way I can install Puppy, maybe directly from an Iso image?

Does it has USB?
Maybe it just can't read selfburned CDs and if you plugin an external CD it would work (I had once that problem)
