How do I create a new modem dev node for Puppy Linux 2.13 zdrv?

Sorry if I posted in the wrong forum.

I installed the Martian modem in Puppy Linux

martian-full-20061203.tar.gz

I was not able to use the pet/pupget package but I was able to install that tarbar file that extracted to ./packages

However, Puppy does not have udev, so device nodes will not be created automatically. There is no instructions on how to manually create a dev node in the martin modem readme.

So does anyone know how to create a dev node (ttySM0) for Puppy Linux 2.13 zdrv for the Martin Modem?

Thank you for your help.

This linkgives instructions for an older version, but I you might see if it still works the same way. Apparently make install installed a file /usr/sbin/martian_modem. Running that file created /dev/ttySM0. Give it a try.
