hi fom greece and HD problem
 

hi all. first i want to say sorry for my englesh.

now my problem ,i have 1 HD 3.5" and i put in a box and i trans in usb HD,i have 2 pc (1 my home and my work)

before 2 days i delete all directory accept that what i need and after that when i try to mount with MUT they say input/output error .

its possible to take my files without make format?>

i use muppy 2,12 007 with kde

It is the USB portable drive that you are asking about, isn't it?
Look at the drive with "sudo /sbin/fdisk -l". I wonder if you had a partition such as /dev/sdc5 for example, that was on an extended partition such as /dev/sdc4 and you deleted the /dev/sdc4 partition. Then if you deleted the container (/dev/sdc4) partition, that would have deleted /dev/sdc5 as well.

no is not that usb its normal 3.5" ide hd like all pc have inside ,80 GB maxtor.
i take inside from my desktop pc 2.4 pentium 4 .
i am so unhappy :( i have inside so macth documens

so i think the only way to take from inside its with some program like xfilemount (this is to open the pup_save.sfs)

i try to look to the win if i fount something.

ps when i look to the internet with win i now after i must to make format but if i save my files its ok for this time.

ok i take my files when i use knoppix live cd and the knoppix see the usb drive
