Cool Gxine only works for a max of 2 mins at a time

I have tried gxine on lots of streams and files, but it always stops playing after about 2 mins. I am running it on a linutop 1, using puppy 4...I know hardware isn't an issue since I can get flash video's, streams on mplayer and almost everything working on VLC. VLC hasn't got a mozilla seamonkey plugin (well I haven't found it)on puppy and I would prefer to use gxine for everything. So, is there anyone who knows the solution to my problem?

I only run pup 4 in virtualbox but these suggestions may assist?

1) vbox allowed me to setup an soundblaster 16 isa card emulation running alsa

2) boot pup 4 then menu / setup/ alsa sound wizard......allow auto detect of your card....if not found choose it....I realise you may have onboard sound chipset but you can post what that is if you are having troubles with my hints
and let alsa raise volumes and test sound

3) only then click on gxine and go to /file/configure/preferences and hope you can see audio and video options....mine will differ from yours so you are on your own there....but you can post the output to /view/engine log/ messages & plugin and trace

4) my messages are only 2 lines that found plugin mpeg demux and file plugin
plugins were heaps found
