FatDog64 install

I would like to install FatDog64 to a partition.

It has picks like no bootloader etc.

With many warnings like "Other O.S.es will not load."

It does not look like it would add an entry to menu.lst like other Puppy distros.

Will it install alongside other Puppy distros and allow you to pick which one you want to start with ?

Looks like you need to select no boot loader and manually add fatdog to your existing menu.lst.

Nice example but I did not see any explanation on how to determine the correct parameters.

I assume the boot loader is Legacy grub and numbering starts at 0 i.e. boot disk is 0, partition 1 is 0.

Quote:
To choose whether you want to install a boot loader:

Install boot loader to Master Boot Record (MBR)
(unsafe, can cause existing operating system to stop booting, but Fatdog64 will boot)

Install boot loader to the partition where Fatdog64 is installed
(usually safe if Fatdog64 is the only operating system in the partition. If you do this on partition that has an existing operating system in it, that operating system may stop booting)

Use existing Operating System
Only works for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7. For Linux, please see below on manual installation note.

Do not install boot loader
Note that Fatdog64 will not boot unless you install the boot loader. If you choose not to install a boot loader, you must do so manually yourself.
Option one - says it is unsafe.

Option two - "usually safe if Fatdog64 is the only operating system in the partition."
"Usually" sounds suspicious, like it has not been thoroughly tested.

Option 3 - Do not have Windows on that computer

Option 4 - Not installing a boot loader will not let Fatdog64 install. (So why offer this option ?)

In regards to the second webpage.

It talks about Grub.

Puppy Linux uses Grub4Dos which is different and easier to use.

P.S.

My area is getting some serious flooding.

I am close to Houston, Texas.
