Error loading shared libraries
 

I looked for libFLAC++.so.6, but I found

sudo apt-get install libflac++6

which neither Slacko or any Puppy variant uses.

How do I get that library ?

I looked online and it appears that libflacc is an .rpm pkg which is for a Red Hat based distro.

Can Puppy convert a .rpm into a puppy pkg?

If not I don't know any other way.

I could find no way.

I want to be able to record audio with an external mike.

PavRecord is no help at all.

arecord is supposed to record audio, but I can not find out which device to use ?

Audacity records well if you want to try that.
It works well with my Logitech headset.-;)

I can get a version of Audacity that works with 64 bit Slacko. :-(

Sorry, I meant I could NOT get a version that works.

Ever since going from 32 -> 64 bit Slacko, I have been finding a lot of broken things.

1. Audacity
2. ScangearMp - Canon Scanner
3. VLC
4. Can not record any audio
5. Webcam records video but no audio

I put a 32 bit version in so I can do scanning of documents.

Wine and Efax are also not in the package manager.

Maybe get in touch with the maintainer of the programs that are broken and write to them.

Try a higher version of the kernel or recompile the one you already have.
That often makes things that didn't work; work again.

I am not sure the programs are broken.

I am evaluating Mint 18 right now.

All of those programs work right out of the box.

Having some issues such as trying to give full write access to all files on my other partitions.

I cannot import my bookmarks file which is on another partition.

Is there a site to learn how to recompile my kernel ?

When I was running Mint 17.3 is was stable and all was well. I think you will like Mint as it is fairly easy to run.

I couldn't mount other drives while I was booted into one os. Found out it's a user id issue.
All of the user id's have to be the same and if they are not you'll have to use the usermod and groupmod commands to fix it in a tty terminal.
