Error 22 after installing Puppy to HDD

I just install puppy to hdd. after installing, a dialogue appeared saying to find a file menu.lst in /boot/grub to insert somethings like this

Code:

title Puppy Linux 4 Full install in hda1
root(hd0,0)
kernel/boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda1 pmedia=idehd

but i can not find it.

I reboot the PC, then display error 202

what is it? how to solve this problem?

Tks for your help!

hi

grub legacy errors only go up to 34 the last time I checked.

Can you boot a live cd....mount the partition and look into /var/log/messages......it should show that 202 so post it pls
If none found look at /home/yourname/.xsession-errors

note there is a dot in that filename

Leaping ahead...you have gone past the grub stage....and your error is trying to configure your Xserver.

good luck

2) you could try loading a cheat code when grub first appears.....press E to edit and change to
"xmodule=vesa" without the quotes and see if you can boot in.....if so ...you then need to fix your x file pls

Boot your computer from a Puppy LiveCD, the one you probably used to install from.
Type puppy pfix=ram at the very first 5 second splash screen.
That will boot you into the LiveCD without affecting your installation. That's why this puppy pfix=ram is VERY important.

Once in the LiveCD open your Puppy partition. You will find a folder /boot there. Open it and go to /boot/grub/menu.lst.
Insert the very message you have posted here. If your Puppy is not on hda1, i.e. the first partition of the first hard disk, than adjust accordingly. You also might want to adjust the number behind "timeout". The number indicates the seconds the grub boot screen will be visible. Save menu.lst.

Reboot from the LiveCD without saving !!! Remove the CD.

Next your grub should boot with your Puppy.
