ACPI on puppy linux
How is ACPI supported in Puppy Linux? Is it inbuilt into the kernel or is it supported externally? And, what is the version of kernel that puppylinux supports?
Thanks for your help.. |
What version of puppy?

I am using version 2.0.2. I did some more "googling" and found that it uses kernel version "2.6". I think ACPI is supported in this version. Just wanted to confirm.
Also, I was able to load Puppy Linux onto a USB stick and boot the system from the USB. Question is , How do I use the ACPI capability to suspend-to-RAM (S3) state and wake it up from S3? Any ideas? |

Puppy has ACPI enabled, and it may work depending on your hardware. You'll get more detailed info by (a) asking in the hardware section of the Puppy forum at murga.org and (b) finding out, by searching clusty.com, exactly how broken your hardware's ACPI implementation is. Cheers, Mark |
Hi everybody,
i'm spending nights and nights trying to get a kind of fan-control working on my thinkpad r51. please make me stay in love with linux  my biggest problem is, that i can't compile on my pizzapup beta3 and i don't know how to patch the kernel or similar techniques. her is the patch for thinkwiki.org/wiki/Patch_for_controlling_fan_speed and thinkwiki.org/wiki/ACPI_fan_control_script , who seem to be my solution, but i don't get it. i would be so happy about some help. df -h Quote:
