I used LXRandR 0.1.2.

It is much easier to use than Windows display settings.

What's irritating is that every program starts in a smaller window than full screen.

I wonder if other users using 1600x900 have the same issue ?

Are you running Puppy ?

I just found the answer to the reduced window size when opening programs.

I reduced the virtual desktops from 2 to 1.

Now all programs start full screen. :-)

No, I do not use Puppy, but the same behaviour here: external monitor uses all the screen, but internal does not stretch to full size.
