I've noticed it too in the forums.

I'm using the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the page to post this, and I'll do a second post in a minute using the "Post Reply" button.

OK, the first one had the percent signs just fine. Will this one be any different?

Well, that went through just fine as well.

This bug tracker looks like it's different from the rest of the site. I wonder if the bug is confined to just the actual forums?

Two posts that I've seen with the issue:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...0/#post5338168
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ml#post5328704

I'll let you know if I notice any more, or notice any patterns. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Hi,

This might be related, so I'm posting it here.

Just noticed that I can't use the opening exclamation sign () on LQ. (I attempted to use it in this post).

Not that it matters too much as English doesn't use this sign, but I thought I should let you know. By the way, I used the quick reply button too when attempting to use the sign.

Regards.

Let me see, 95% of the time the % works, and another 5% = % 100% of the time I can type it.
hola,buenos tarde ! seems to work too.

I recently suffered the same issue. ( http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...6/#post5380470 )

Suspecting it was caused by the message line used by printf as a format, I tried the workaround to duplicate the % for it to appear in the posting and it worked.

I recently noticed I was affected by this.

Code:
echo ${file%%flac}
I put two symbols between file and flac and it output only one after saving it once, then removed the other after editing and saving

The 2 % -> 1 % is happening here for me

Yeah, me too. I find that only the first percent sign in the post disappears, and subsequent ones are okay. For example, I write one percent, two percent, three percent below:

1% # See? This one disappeared
2% # but not this one
3% # not this one either

It even disappears within CODE blocks!

Anyway, I was able to get my post done by placing a "sacrificial" percent sign at the beginning of the post.

Wait a second. It didn't disappear. Now I am more confused than ever.

I always make sure to enter "Advanced Mode" when editing posts with % or &c... in the blog as well, wipes them out otherwise.
