The question does not have to be directly related to Linux and any language is fair game.

I just read the man pages related to awk.
It is written in totally boring English.
The websites you have all mentioned were written in excellent English.
I found the following in the man pages.
-W version
--version
Print version information for this particular copy of gawk on the
standard output. This is useful mainly for knowing if the current
copy of gawk on your system is up to date with respect to whatever
the Free Software Foundation is distributing. This is also useful
when reporting bugs. (Per the GNU Coding Standards, these options
cause an immediate, successful exit.)
------------------------------------------------
Ni@linux-3vxw:~> awk -W version
GNU Awk 3.1.5
Copyright (C) 1989, 1991-2005 Free Software Foundation.
So I have gawk 3.1.5.
Is it too old?
No, it's not too old, I've got the same version.
You're funny, with all that "boring English" talk, you know that? It ain't like man pages are supposed to provide entertainment for ya... It's strictly business...
Gins, if you are going to literally admit you don't like them, then please do not ask questions here which you know may be covered in them, that's your problems then, not ours. Do you have any idea at all how offensive that really is to our intelligent and valued members?
Indians (asian) may or may not be good in computer science. But all persons have a good spirit and persistence to learn, understand and go forward. Howver in this thread, you are simply repeating the same thing to keep bumping the thread up. I think thats what ghostdog74 meant. I am also done here.
Yeah, I think it's actually got to be best to put this thread to rest...
Gins, please try to actually help yourself. It doesn't feel good giving good advice which continually falls on deaf ears. you have made so so many posts here yet whilst each problem may or may not have been moved on individually, you don't appear to have taken on board any long term advice that you have received countless times for things like self help, generic documentation and such. I hope you have a better approach to things AFK...
