Xlib output in root window (full screen)

I am not seeing the output of Xlib graphic output on the screen. There is no error during running the application; sometimes I get segmentation fault. What is the C source code for flipping the root window, screen blanking and showing the user graphics on the screen? I would appreciate sorce code that would do the above.

What is the way to fully tailor the xscreensaver sorce code in order to flash Xlib output on to the full screen? Could we not alter the XSCREENSAVER source to suit my requirement of screen blanking and showing user graphics with a handle to terminate at will?
