i'm running xfce4 on a 2.6.8 kernel...
when i click the right mouse butto over the empty desktop ,xfce4 shows
a menu that can be configured with the menu.xml file
and i need to create a keyboard shortcut to this....
any idea about how to proceed ?

shortcut key for what? right clicking background? editing the xml file?

is there a button in the menu for editing the xml file that, when clicking, opens the xml file in an editor? if so you could add a command to a keyboard shortcut like 'vi /path/to/xmlFile.xml'

english is not my mother tongue so may be i have not explained in the correct way my requirements....

i need to create a keyboard shortcut into xfce4 environment that perform the same actions as the right mouse button clicking
