who knows of a script to convert the links in a web page index to local kinks


I need to use a web page offline
I got the page downloaded with wget
BUT
it didn't convert the links
and yes I did use the -k option

I usually don't have that problem with wget. Are you absolutely sure that all the files that the web page requires were downloaded? For example, did you use -p ?

Same questions being asked of the OP in the original thread. Why start another ?.

When I need to clean up a web page like this, I simply use sed. Several in some cases.

So it sounds like you have relative links but need them to be FQDN links? Consider adding a baseref to the html?

no the home page works just fine as long as the computer is connected to the web
I don't care what kind of links are being used as
long as it works even if I have to prefix all of
them with /usr/doc/webpage-name

sorry about not posting the command line I used to
