What is a Dwarf error? Got it while compiling c++

Hi guys,

I got the below error
/usr/bin/ld: Dwarf Error: Offset (1195) greater than or equal to .debug_str size (320)

What exactly does it mean?

I got it while compiling my c++ sources, at the linking phase.

Warmest Regards,

DWARF is the name of the format for debugging information that GCC uses. Try doing a clean rebuild, and also check your build dependencies. This could be interference from newly rebuilt code and stale code that isn't being properly rebuilt.

Alright, thansk for the explanation.

I managed to solve this error. My problem was

I had a function declaration in a .hpp in a class

class aclass
    void myfunc();
Then, in my .cpp where i include my header file and also my implementation of myfunc(), I had the below (which is wrong)

#include my.hpp

void myfunc() //this line is WRONG, I should use void aclass::myfunc() instead
    //do something here
And all is well now. Cheers!
