what is a BOT?

Hi

What is a BOT? and could anyone explain me with the help of an example.

i'm not sure in what context you are wanting to know......if it is something having to do with a game and it is refering to a BOT most likely it is a computer controlled player.
for example: if you play quake3arena off-line your opponents are BOTS. instead of playing against characters controlled by another person you are playing against characters generated by the game/computer(BOTS).
there may very well be another definition for it but this is the only one that i'm familiar with.
try doing a google search with "bots definition" and see what you come up with.

there's also IRC BOTS which can help with giving out info to users of an IRC channel and also help administer an IRC channel easier.

my question is, when using vim, sometimes in the lower right-hand corner of the vim window/terminal (some type of status) it sometimes says 'BOT', anyone know what that means?

just a guess, it might mean bottom, as in your trying to move past the bottom of the document
