Webpage How-To

Ok, I just registered my first domain name and want to work on building my webpage. My question is how do I make one in Linux? I mean I know the commands and all, but I am used to the Notepad in Winblows. Is there a similar device in Linux that i can use (I am guessing the terminal)? I don't want to use programs like Dreamweaver or Wine either. Just the regular old school way.

Use vi or vim or any simple text editor thats available.

Yo, I took your advice and tried Bluefish. Everything seems to be going fine, but how do you view the page your working on in a browser? I added the browser I am using to the Preferences--> External Programs--> and in the browser section I added where my browser is located--> /home/matrix/Firefox/.firefox. When I click on the globe to see what the page looks like so far nothing happens. How do I set it up so I can view pages I am working on?

Ok, disregard that last reply. I figured it out.

Linux~Powered, could you post how to view it in graphical mode? I am used to Dreamweaver and don't know how to do it.

Try and make a habit of posting the answer on your thread if you figure it out.
