"webbrowser" C/C++ library?

hiho@ll

anybody knows something like a webbrowser C/C++ library?
i want to be able to do something like a webbrowser for the shell with some advanced features (just for me, e.g. to automate reading emails or pick a few messages out of a chat so i can chat with someone without the other messages and without a private room....) (only some crazy ideas i only try to bring to life *g*)

so what i need is a lib through i'm able to fill forms automated or do automated http requests
and the top of it would be something like a java applet emulator
so i can run a applet and have control of the applet textfields, buttons ....

to bring this all to screen isn't necessary for now
it just want to be able to do this stuff

thx@ll
